Lefebvre-Foinet stamp on the reverse of the canvases
Oval stamp printed in ink, found on the reverse of the canvases kept in the house
It reads “TOILES & COULEURS”, the name “LUCIEN LEFEBVRE FOINET” and the address “19 RUE VAVIN & 2 RUE BRÉA”; the two intermediate lines are worn away by the weave. Lefebvre-Foinet supplied the materials sold over the hotel’s counter: its mark on the backs of the canvases says where the supports used here came from.
