Lilla Cabot Perry — At the River’s Bend (On the River II)
Oil on canvas, 65.5 × 81.5 cm, painted at Giverny in 1895: a young woman in a pale dress seated at the edge of the Epte, the dark water and the reflected trees behind her. Perry returned to the village for nine summers between 1889 and 1909 and was among the first to make Monet’s work known in the United States.
