Giverny
The Archives of American Art write that in the summer of 1888 he made his first trip to Giverny, where he was among those who “were among the first Americans to experiment with Impressionism”, and that he spent the summers of 1891 to 1893 continuing that work there.
Relation with the Hôtel Baudy
Three stays: 1 June to 1 October 1888, then 5 to 7 October of the same year, and finally 6 to 30 August 1892. That last one is not alone — on the next line of the register are entered “M. et Mme. Hale père”, that is the minister and writer Edward Everett Hale, his father, on exactly the same dates.
